The rhizome is usually chosen for clinical use as a medicine, and the whiskers are basically of no medicinal value.
Huangjing belongs to a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, and when used medicinally, it is the dried rhizome of Dian huangjing (滇黄精), Huangjing (黄精) or Huangjing (多花黄精), which is a plant of the lily family.
The drug can replenish qi, nourish yin, and strengthen the spleen, and is good at treating symptoms such as tiredness and fatigue, loss of appetite, and dry mouth and low food intake caused by weakness of the spleen and stomach. Huang Jing can also moisturize the lungs and benefit the kidneys, and is used to treat lung deficiency and dry cough, coughing up blood with exertion, kidney deficiency and essence loss, lumbar and knee soreness (a feeling of soreness and weakness in the lumbar and knee areas), and premature whitening of the beard and hair.
Huang Jing is sticky and greasy in nature, and can easily help dampness and congestion of qi. It is not suitable for people with spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction, phlegm-dampness congestion, and the specific use of the drug should be in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
