A white dot on the lower eyelid may be a foreign body inside the eye that has not been removed in time and remains inside the lower eyelid, usually accompanied by a stinging sensation in the eye as well as a foreign body feeling, after timely removal, the symptoms may usually be relieved. If the white dots inside the lower eyelid are fixed and not easily pushed, they may also be caused by eye diseases, which need to be identified and then dealt with: 1. Lower conjunctival stones: Generally, chronic conjunctivitis leads to the accumulation of local inflammatory exudate and necrotic tissue inside the conjunctiva of the lower eyelid, which manifests as white dots in the lower eyelid. If the stone is small, it may not produce any special sensation, while if it is large, it may produce a foreign body sensation. This is usually associated with a history of bacterial or allergic conjunctivitis and can be treated with topical antibiotic drops for relief or surgery to remove the stone if the foreign body sensation is severe. 2. Lower eyelid wheals: This is an acute inflammation caused by septic bacteria invading the eyelid glands and if it is an internal wheals it may manifest as a white dot on the lower eyelid flap, along with local pain, redness and swelling. The pain and redness are more pronounced. Antibiotic eye drops such as levofloxacin drops can be used topically or erythromycin can be taken orally. If suppuration occurs, surgical incision is required to drain the pus. 3. Lower eyelid chalazion: This is a small sterile cyst caused by blockage of the opening of the lid gland at the root of the hair follicle, which can also appear as a white dot on the lower eyelid flap, usually at the root of the eyelashes on the lower lid. A warm towel can be applied to the eyelid to help the cyst subside, and if this is not effective, chalazion surgery can be performed with the help of a doctor. In addition, other eye diseases such as blepharitis and allergic conjunctivitis may involve the inner part of the lower eyelid, but they are relatively rare. If white dots are present inside the lower eyelid, you can first rule out the presence of a foreign body inside the eye and then apply a hot compress locally. If the symptoms are not relieved or if the pain is more pronounced, you should seek medical attention for slit lamp and other related examinations and carry out corresponding treatment under the guidance of an ophthalmologist. You should avoid rubbing your eyes with your hands to avoid bringing bacteria into the eyes and aggravating the symptoms. And reduce eye time, avoid bright light stimulation, more rest to help the disease recovery.
