How to tell if a tooth is leaking a nerve

Nerve leakage is caused by the destruction of the surface structure of the tooth, which gradually penetrates into the pulp. To determine whether a tooth is leaking nerve, you can use clinical manifestations and take simple methods to detect it by yourself. I. Clinical manifestations Tooth pain: If a tooth leaks a nerve, the symptoms of pulpitis are very likely to occur, and the most obvious is tooth pain, which is manifested as severe spontaneous discharge pain and implication pain. The most obvious symptoms of pulpitis are severe spontaneous release pain and involvement pain. Most of the involvement pain occurs in the posterior teeth and the involvement site is only unilateral. Second, self-test method Drinking hot water method: If you suspect that the tooth is leaking nerve, you can take the method of drinking hot water for self-test. Due to the local tooth destruction of the tooth with nerve leakage, there will be severe pain after drinking hot water, and the pain time is more than one minute, at this time, root canal treatment is needed as soon as possible. If the tooth is judged to have a leaky nerve, endodontic treatment, also known as root canal treatment, can be taken to open the pulp of the diseased tooth, extract the nerve, further clean the necrotic tissue or inflammation in the pulp cavity, and then perform root canal filling to eliminate the inflammation of the tooth itself and restore the normal chewing function.
