The minimally invasive procedure for appendicitis consists of the following: 1. The patient is under general anesthesia for laparoscopic appendectomy. 2. A poke card is placed under the patient’s umbilicus, and a pneumoperitoneum is established, and two other poke cards are placed in the right lower abdomen under lumpectomy guidance. 3. The appendix is searched for, usually along the patient’s colonic band, and then the patient’s appendiceal tract is treated and ligated. Indeed, finally the root of the appendix should be treated. Usually the ligation should be performed at 0.5 cm from the root of the patient’s appendix, and the abdominal cavity should be given a flush if necessary. Because some appendicitis patients will have appendiceal suppuration and perforation, so that the patient’s abdominal cavity will be abscessed, to give thorough flushing and drainage, and if necessary, to place a good abdominal drainage tube, and sew up the patient’s incision. 4, to deal with the final state of the patient, such as to deal with the pneumoperitoneum, after the poke card is withdrawn, the patient should be exhausted, to sew up the incision, and to observe whether the incision has bleeding.
