Thyroid nodules are hard or soft

Thyroid nodules may be soft or hard, depending on the nature of thyroid nodules.
1. Hard thyroid nodules: if belongs to thyroid cancer, it will cause hard nodules with unclear boundary and irregular shape; if belongs to thyroid adenoma, it will cause hard nodules with clear boundary and regular shape, usually not rich in blood flow, and presenting round or oval shape; simple goiter and Hashimoto’s disease may also cause hard nodules.
2. Soft thyroid nodules: Thyroid cysts, generally the lesion consists of the capsule wall and capsule contents, and the capsule contents are liquid, so the texture is relatively soft.
Therefore, if thyroid nodules are present, it is necessary to advise patients to actively undergo further examination and analyze the need for further treatment under the guidance of specialists according to the nature of the nodules.
