Hiccups in babies are usually caused by uncontrolled eating, or eating too quickly and eating after crying in fear. There are several ways to relieve your baby’s hiccups. After each feeding, place the baby upright in your arms and let the baby’s head rest on the shoulder as much as possible, then pat the baby’s back with your hand and let the baby lie down after about half an hour. You can also let your baby lie flat and use your hands to massage his abdomen to help him ventilate. Patting the back and massaging the abdomen can help prevent hiccups. It is very important to have a good posture when feeding your baby. It is recommended that you tilt your baby at a 45° angle when feeding your baby, so that the milk powder or milk reaches your baby’s gastrointestinal tract smoothly, and you should also pay attention to the temperature of the milk powder which should not be too cold or too hot. If your baby cries a lot, don’t feed him/her immediately. You should give him/her milk after he/she calms down to prevent overflow and burping. Babies who are too hungry should not be fed in time, as they may become too anxious and have hiccups. Babies with frequent hiccups are advised to feed their babies at a 45° angle and then pat their backs or massage their abdomens after feeding.
