Herbal medicines to resolve phlegm and relieve cough include Sichuan Beimu, Pinellia, Zhulizhi, and Platycodon. The effect of a single Chinese medicine is very small, and need to be used with other drugs.
1. Chuanbeimu: sweet, bitter, slightly cold, to the heart, lung meridian, with phlegm cough, clearing heat and moistening the lungs, eliminating swelling and dissipating the effect of the knot. It is often used in conjunction with other medicines for the treatment of yin deficiency and labor cough, lung heat and dry cough, blood in sputum, lung carbuncle and other diseases. 3. Zhu Lei: sweet, bitter, cold, belongs to the lung, heart, liver meridian, has the effect of clearing away heat and resolving phlegm, removing vexation and relieving cough. Often used in conjunction with other drugs for the treatment of cough and phlegm, asthma and chest tightness, children’s phlegm-heat convulsions (with dizziness, convulsions, convulsions as the main manifestations of pediatric diseases) and other conditions. Allergic to bamboo lee is prohibited.
4. Platycodon grandiflorum: bitter, pungent, neutral, belonging to the lung meridian, with the efficacy of promoting the lungs and pharynx, expelling phlegm and relieving cough. Often used in conjunction with other drugs for the treatment of cough and phlegm, chest tightness, sore throat and loss of voice and other diseases. Allergic to Platycodon grandiflorus is prohibited, and Platycodon grandiflorus is prohibited for patients with prolonged coughing due to deficiency of Yin.
