How do I manage my vascular health?

The vascular health management program is of great significance for the benefit of the country and the people. In China, vascular diseases caused by atherosclerosis have surpassed cancer as the number one cause of death. The common target of damage from hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and smoking are all blood vessels. The onset and progression of vascular damage is far beyond our imagination. Topol, a world-renowned cardiovascular expert, states in his masterpiece, Topol Cardiovascular Pathology, that “autopsies reveal lipid streaks in the aorta up to age 10, in the coronary arteries up to age 20, and in the cerebral arteries up to age 30”. This shows that the vascular lesions that may appear in childhood are an important component of the “untreated diseases” in TCM. Therefore, under the guidance of the idea of “treating the untreated disease” in TCM, the construction of a universal vascular health database by means of “cloud computing” and the formation of effective intervention measures based on the database combining Chinese and Western medicine are the core of vascular health management. The project involves two key core technologies: (1) not only the intervention of risk factors of arterial lesions (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, etc.), but also the evaluation and intervention of the degree of arterial lesions; (2) the construction of an interactive network-based vascular health management platform.
