How to get rid of scars

Scars, or keloid scars, cannot be completely removed once they have appeared, but their appearance can be improved in a number of ways. Currently, the most common treatment methods for scarring include general treatment, medication, laser treatment and surgery.
1. General treatment: If the scar is shallow and has just been formed, it can be treated without any special treatment, usually pay attention to skin cleanliness and hygiene, pay attention to sun protection, avoid local mechanical injury, and the scar will fade away naturally after the proliferation period.
2. Medication: Scars that have just formed and are still in the proliferation period can also be treated with medication, such as silicone gel, sodium allantoin and other drugs under the guidance of a specialist.
3. Laser treatment: For scars in the proliferation period, dye laser treatment can be considered to occlude the local capillaries of the scars, soften the scars and inhibit the proliferation of scars; if the scars are old, carbon dioxide laser, erbium laser and other treatments can be considered to effectively repair the scar tissue, to achieve the effect of fading scars.
4. Surgery: Scars that are poorly treated by conservative treatment or are accompanied by dysfunction can be considered for surgical treatment, such as keloid reshaping, flap transplantation or skin grafting.
Patients who are willing to treat scars are advised to go to regular hospitals and follow the specialist’s advice to adopt reasonable treatment programs.
