Scrotal moisture is a normal physiological phenomenon. When the testicles are 1℃-2℃ below the body, it is the optimal temperature for their growth and to ensure their spermatogenic function. The scrotal skin has a large surface area and abundant sweat glands and sebaceous glands, which can regulate the testicular temperature below the body temperature. The testicles can dissipate heat through the surface of the skin and sweat, so scrotal sweating and dampness is a normal physiological phenomenon. In the case of prolonged sitting and wearing tight underwear resulting in poor ventilation, it is more difficult to dissipate heat through the surface of the skin, the scrotum will regulate its own sweat glands, through sweating to achieve heat dissipation. Scrotal dampness is most common in summer, infrequent bathing, wearing non-breathable chemical fiber underwear, obesity or men with high activity level. Prevention and treatment of scrotal dampness include wearing loose, absorbent cotton underwear; bathing frequently, warm baths are appropriate, avoid using hot water, do not use perfumed soap scrub to prevent allergies, contact dermatitis and athlete’s foot, foot basin and foot towels to pay attention to the disinfection of the patient. The simple way to disinfect is to use boiling water and sun exposure to avoid infecting other parts or infecting other people. If the scrotum appears red pimples, intense itching, do not arbitrarily use drugs or listen to small ads. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital and follow the doctor’s advice.
