Wisdom tooth inflammation usually heals in a few days

Patients with wisdom tooth inflammation can achieve the effect of eliminating symptoms in about 3-5 days after active treatment, but the specific recovery time needs to be determined based on the patient’s physical condition, care measures and many other factors. Wisdom tooth inflammation is often considered as wisdom tooth pericoronitis, which is a common dental disease that occurs when the wisdom tooth erupts and grows with restricted growth space or inadequate cleaning care. Clinically, anti-infective and symptomatic treatment with antibiotics and analgesics can be used for pericoronitis, which can improve significantly in about 3-5 days if the patient is in good health and no other special conditions occur. After waiting for the inflammatory symptoms to subside, it is advisable to visit the hospital’s Department of Dentistry for a follow-up examination to see if there is a need to remove the wisdom teeth. During the treatment period, patients should choose more liquid, low residue and light food to avoid hard, spicy and cold food, which may aggravate the disease performance.
