How to treat Barrett’s esophagus

The treatment of Barrett’s esophagus can be broadly divided into the following categories: 1. normal life conditioning: patients with Barrett’s esophagus should be instructed to eat easily digestible food, less acidic and spicy stimulating food, and to make corresponding guidance on diet conditioning; 2. medication: Barrett’s esophagus is mainly caused by reflux, so it is the same principle as the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. The same principle is used, acid suppressing drugs, gastrointestinal motive drugs, and some drugs for esophageal mucosa protection; 3. For patients with very serious cases or even those with biopsies suggesting cancer and deeper disease infiltration, surgical treatment should be actively pursued. These are some aspects of treatment for Barrett’s esophagus.
