Laser treatment for glaucoma

Primary angle-closure glaucoma is one of the common blindness diseases in the elderly, generally speaking, once the disease is diagnosed, it should be treated with surgery early, but most of the elderly are unwilling or afraid of surgery, so is there no surgery and avoid the adverse effects of long-term application of IOP-lowering drugs? –Laser treatment is a good option. However, not all patients with glaucoma are suitable for laser. The main indications are: 1) preclinical glaucoma (e.g., one eye has already undergone anti-glaucoma surgery before the other is asymptomatic); 2) intermittent glaucoma with a history of previous acute attacks (as determined by the ophthalmologist); 3) acute attacks that are relieved by conventional medications; 4) certain chronic closed-angle glaucoma (as determined by the ophthalmologist).
