Conventional semen leukocytosis, suggesting >5 leukocytes per high power field of view, may be related to prostatitis, seminal vesicle adenitis, epididymitis and so on. Normal semen has only a small number of leukocytes, and its reference value is <1×10^9/L or <5 per high power field of view, so when the value of semen routine leukocytes is higher than the reference value range, it suggests leukocytosis, which may be related to prostatitis, seminal vesicle adenitis, epididymitis, and other genital inflammation caused by leukocytes gathered in the site of infection. When leukocytes > 1×10^9/L, it is called pus spermatosis or leukocytospermia, which can lead to male infertility. Therefore when semen routine leukocytosis is increased, the cause of the disease needs to be clarified under the guidance of a doctor so that it can be treated aggressively.
