There are many causes of dizziness, including hypertension, inadequate blood supply to the vertebral basilar artery and lesions in the ear, and even anemia and hypoglycemia can produce dizziness, but not all patients with dizziness can have abnormalities on CT. In cases of dizziness caused by inadequate blood supply to the vertebrobasilar artery, CTA, or CT angiography, can reveal the location of the stenosis. However, in cases of dizziness due to pure hypertension without significant hemorrhage, cerebral infarction or stroke, CT cranial scan may have no significant abnormal findings and requires blood pressure control to relieve symptoms. In addition, patients with Meniere’s syndrome, anemia, and other causes of dizziness have no abnormal positive results on CT examination. In summary, patients with dizziness should follow their doctor’s instructions and avoid unnecessary CT examinations.
