Gout patients know to eat more vegetarian and less non-vegetarian foods. It is best for gout patients to develop their own recipes based on the purine content of foods to reduce the triggers of attacks and improve the quality of life. According to the purine content, foods are classified into three categories: low purine foods (purine <25mg per 100g of food), medium purine foods (purine 25-150mg per 100g of food) and high purine foods (purine 150-1000mg per 100g of food). 1.Foods with high purine content are prohibited for gout patients in acute or remission period.
(1) Meat: liver, intestines, heart, belly, stomach, kidney, lung, brain, pancreas, and other offal of poultry and livestock, dried meat, thick gravy, meat pies, etc.
(2) aquatic products: fish (fish skin, fish eggs, dried fish and sardines, anchovies and other marine fish), shellfish, shrimp, etc.

2.Contains moderate amount of purine food, so any patient in remission can choose one serving of animal food and one serving of vegetables from it, but the consumption should not be too much.
(1) Beans and their products: bean products (tofu, dried beans, dairy tofu, soy milk, soy milk), peas, soybeans, mung beans, red beans, black beans, fava beans, etc. in dry beans.
(2) Meat: poultry, livestock meat.
(3) Aquatic products: grass carp, carp, cod, flounder, sea bass, crab, eel, eel, snail, abalone, fish ball, shark fin.
(4) Vegetables: spinach, bamboo shoots (asparagus, asparagus, dried bamboo shoots), beans in the four seasons, green beans, beans, etc., seaweed, golden needles, silver fungus, mushrooms, cauliflower.

3.Foods containing small amount of purine can be chosen by patients at will without strict control.
(1) Staple foods: rice, wheat, pasta products, starch, sorghum, macaroni, potato, sweet potato, yam, etc.
(2) Milk: butter, milk, cheese, ice cream, etc.
(3) Meat: eggs and pig’s blood, chicken’s blood, duck’s blood and cinnamon fish, etc.
(4) Vegetables: Most vegetables are low purine foods.
(5) Fruits: Fruits are basically low purine foods and can be eaten with no worries.
(6) Fats and oils: vegetable oil, melon seeds, butter, cream, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, dried fruits, sugar, honey and animal agar.
(7) drinks: mineral water, soda, cola, soft drinks, cream of wheat, tea, fruit juice, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, jelly, etc.
(8) Others: sauces, honey and condiments.
In addition, obese gout patients should lose weight appropriately and alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited. Drink more water to keep the urine diluted to reduce the formation of uric acid stones. Eat more alkaline food such as milk, vegetables and fruits, or take alkaline drugs, which can alkalize the urine and save the kidneys from damage.
