The effectiveness of laser treatment depends on the cause of the disease and a cure can usually be achieved. Laser photocoagulation is currently an effective method of treating choroidal neovascularization. In the active phase, laser treatment can be performed in patients with lesions located outside the central 1/4 PD of the macula. If the bleeding is low, routine symptomatic drug therapy is sufficient.
