What to Expect After Eardrum Repair

After eardrum repair, you need to be careful not to eat too much stimulating food, not to smoke or drink, not to catch a cold, not to let water get into your ears, and not to block both nostrils to blow your nose.

1. Try to eat only light food, such as porridge, soft bread, flour and noodles, for 2-3 weeks after eardrum repair. Be careful to avoid spicy and stimulating food, and do not smoke or drink.

2. Do not allow yourself to catch a cold for at least 3 months after the eardrum repair, so as not to cause infection through the Eustachian tube and make the eardrum repair surgery fail.

3. Don’t let your ears get into water, avoid bathing in water, swimming and other activities, and keep your ears dry.

4. Don’t squeeze your nose with both hands by pinching 2 nostrils at the same time, or puff hard to avoid affecting the survival of the eardrum.

After the eardrum repair, you should follow the doctor’s instructions to review on time.
