When do babies practice lifting their heads

Infants usually practice lifting their heads at 1 to 2 months of age, and each infant has its own motor developmental time. Infants’ motor development starts from the cervical vertebrae, and then develops from the top to the bottom of the spine. At 1~2 months of age, infants start practicing lifting their heads, which may be low and unstable at first, but as they practice, their heads will be lifted higher and higher, and their vertical head will be more stable at around 3 months of age. It is important to note that infants should not practice lifting their heads immediately after feeding, but one hour before feeding. First prone head-up practice, prone bed should be flat, comfortable, but not too soft, with language and toys to guide its head up. At the beginning of practicing lifting the head, the time should not be too long, and gradually extend the time of lifting the head. Each infant’s growth and development rate is different, head-up training should have a gradual process, can not be too anxious.
