Parents need to pay attention to the developmental status of their children

Many parents think that girls get menstruation or boys change their voices to represent the development of children, this concept is not correct, in fact, at present, it is generally believed that the second sex characteristics of girls before the age of 8 or menstruation before the age of 10, boys in 9 years old before the second sex characteristics can be diagnosed as precocious puberty. First of all, let’s understand what harm precocious puberty does to children: 1. Idiopathic precocious children are affected by sex hormones in the body, premature acceleration of physical growth, early epiphyseal fusion, shortening of the growth period, early cessation of growth, resulting in a final adult height lower than the height of normal children of the same age according to normal puberty development. 2. The earlier the precocious puberty, the faster the progress, the greater the possibility of tumor. Although the precocious development of sexual characteristics is early, the psychological and intellectual development level is still the actual age level. The premature appearance of sexual characteristics and development of reproductive organs will lead to psychological disorders in immature children, which will lead to low self-esteem and autism, and also bring many inconveniences to life, and even affect reading and learning in serious cases. Precocious puberty can bring these hazards, so we hope that parents can pay attention to the development of their children and detect the problems early (for example, the sudden acceleration of height growth before the age of 10) to help children grow up healthily. (The normal age of puberty is: girls develop breasts at age 10 and have their first menstruation at age 13; boys have enlarged testicles and penis at age 12 and have their first ejaculation at age 15; boys generally develop two years later than girls.) If parents find that their children have precocious puberty, first of all, parents must relieve their worries, patiently explain, do not let the child have a mental burden, and at the same time, promptly take the child to the hospital for examination of children’s endocrine or growth and development clinic. (Tests include blood and urine routine, liver and kidney function, fasting blood sugar, serum FSH, LH, sex hormones, bone age film, cranial MRI/pituitary MRI, ultrasound, GnRH stimulation test, etc., as there may be differences between hospitals, specific tests should be in accordance with doctor’s orders) Parents should ensure that their children have a balanced diet as much as possible, let them eat more vegetables and fruits, appropriate amount of meat, less or no anti-seasonal food, avoid eating Artificially fed high protein foods (turtle, eel, etc.), pollen, honey, royal jelly, etc. Let your child adhere to physical exercise and pay attention to the combination of work and rest: do more vertical exercises, and have at least 20-40 minutes of effective exercise time every day. Make sure your child gets enough sleep (8-10 hours). Let your child watch less TV, especially idol dramas. Pay attention to your child’s mental health and keep your child optimistic and upbeat!
