Dissociative amnesia shows, on the one hand, severe forgetfulness and, on the other hand, the ability to engage in a variety of complex activities and to take care of oneself in a well-organized manner. There is a clear contradiction and separation between the forgetfulness that used to occur and the ability to show knowledge, hence the name dissociative amnesia. So, what is the primary prevention of dissociative amnesia? The following are primary prevention measures for amnesia: 1. health education and nutritional guidance; 2. prenatal and perinatal health care (management of high-risk pregnancy, neonatal intensive care, discouraging pregnant women from drinking and smoking, avoiding or stopping the use of drugs that adversely affect fetal development); 3. immunization against infectious diseases (viruses, bacteria, protozoa); 4. genetic metabolic examination and counseling (avoiding consanguineous marriages, finding carriers); 5. 5. environmental protection (prevention of physical and chemical pollution, poisoning and noise damage); 6. reduction of cranio-cerebral trauma and accidents, proper treatment of brain diseases and seizure control; 7. strengthening of preschool education and early training; 8. prohibition of neglect and abuse of children. The purpose of taking the above measures is to prevent the occurrence of MR.
