Can you clean your teeth if you have a toothache?

A toothache is just a symptom, and scaling is generally not recommended when you have a toothache to avoid causing irritation and potentially worsening the symptoms of pain. Toothaches are related to a variety of factors, and most patients who experience a toothache are considered to be related to pain caused by gingivitis and cavities. Scaling is usually done through ultrasound, and cold water is used during the scaling process, and the irritation from the cold water may lead to worsening of the symptoms of toothache. Therefore, scaling is not recommended when you have a toothache. Carious cavities may lead to toothache. Cold water during scaling will stimulate the pulp inside the cavity, leading to an acute attack of toothache, and the symptoms of pain may be further aggravated. It is recommended not to clean the teeth when you have a toothache, but also to go to the hospital stomatology department for treatment of the primary disease.
