Sheng Wei San combined with Lung Tonic Soup is effective in tonifying Qi and nourishing Yin, treating deficiency of Lung Qi with Yin deficiency syndrome.
1. Sheng Wei San is composed of Fructus Schisandrae chinensis, Ophiopogon, and Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng, which can benefit qi and nourish yin (tonifying qi and yin), nourishing the heart and generating fluids.
Sheng Wei San treats dry throat and mouth, shortness of breath and fatigue caused by warmth and summer heat that deplete qi and yin; prolonged cough, low phlegm, spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with slight movement), night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, sweating stops after waking up), dry mouth and tongue after qi and yin deficiency (deficiency of both qi and yin).
Adverse reactions are not exact; it is not suitable if the external evil is not resolved, or if the heat of summer illness is strong and the qi and yin have not been injured.
2. Tonifying the Lungs Tang is a prescription from “Yong Class Inscription Formula”, which is composed of Astragalus, Sang Bai Pi, Ginseng, Fructus Schisandrae, Honey Aster and Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, and has the efficacy of benefiting the qi and tonifying the lungs, relieving coughing and calming asthma (stopping coughing and calming wheezing). Clinically, it can be used to treat cough and wheezing, spontaneous sweating, shortness of breath, and low and weak voice following lung deficiency.
Adverse reactions and contraindications are uncertain, and caution should be exercised in cases of loose stools (thin and unformed feces) due to spleen deficiency.
Combined has therapeutic effect on symptoms such as cough and wheezing, shortness of breath, spontaneous sweating, night sweating, dry mouth and pharynx, etc., which are associated with lung qi deficiency and concomitant yin deficiency.
