Guide to childbirth for families with AIDS

The state has a variety of subsidies for AIDS mothers and recommends local births AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis B have joined the national major public health special projects. In recent years, the government has invested one billion dollars per year in these three diseases, including maternal testing fees, antiviral drugs, milk powder for children of AIDS families, and vaccination fees for children of syphilis and hepatitis B families, all of which are free of charge. The state directly allocates funds to support these families, and also allocates matching funds to local medical institutions, including funds for follow-up visits for children with these three diseases, with detailed plans for the use of the funds according to certain percentages and types of diseases. The maternal and child centers attached to the National Health Planning Commission have all been trained to each county. The maternal and child health centers and midwifery institutions in each province are equipped with appropriate drugs, testing costs, and a subsidy of 3,000 yuan per month for each patient. So it means that patients will be better managed locally and there is a lot of follow-up treatment. Because antiviral treatment is lifelong, it is best for each mother to have her delivery locally. Many people think that coming to Beijing is rich in medical resources, and good confidentiality, non-discrimination, etc., but in fact, the drugs are the same in all places; there are no corresponding free drugs and other subsidies for giving birth in Beijing, and some related follow-up tests are not available in Beijing; the hospital cannot accept the tests and medications done locally, only for giving birth in Beijing; if you come to Beijing for treatment, it will also affect your own follow-up information, which is not good for long-term treatment. At the same time, the cost of having a baby in Beijing, especially in an infectious disease hospital, is definitely much more expensive than local treatment.
