Syphilis is not AIDS, and AIDS is not the same as syphilis. Although both diseases are sexually transmitted diseases, and they are transmitted in basically the same way, through sexual contact, also through vertical transmission from mother to child, and also through blood, these two diseases are completely different. Syphilis is mainly infected by syphilis spirochetes, while AIDS is infected by HIV, one is a virus and the other is a spirochete, so the source of infection is different. In addition, the symptoms of these two diseases are also different. AIDS mainly manifests as secondary infections due to immune deficiency, including viral and bacterial infections, and patients gradually lose weight and other symptoms. After syphilis infection, there are usually no obvious conscious symptoms, but symptoms of the first sore such as hard chancre may appear, and symptoms of second stage syphilis such as syphilis rash may also appear.
