Are lung nodules associated with pleural pulling?

Pleural stretching is one of the signs caused by lung nodules, and there is a relationship between the two. Pleural pulling is a sign caused by the fibrotic reaction of lung nodules, and is often seen in malignant lung nodules, while pleural pulling is relatively rare in benign nodules. Because malignant nodules have more active tissue proliferation and a higher fibrotic response, pleural pulling is more likely to occur. A portion of chronic inflammation in the lungs can lead to thickening or adhesions in the adjacent pleura, which can also cause pleural pulling. Therefore, if pleural pulling sign is found in imaging examination, attention must be paid to further improve the relevant examination tests for lung cancer, such as tumor markers, chest enhancement CT, and pathological puncture biopsy if necessary, in order to exclude the possibility of malignant nodules.
