How long can you live with hepatitis B?

Hepatitis B is a disease caused by the infection of the liver by the hepatitis B virus and is a contagious disease. The life expectancy of hepatitis B patients is related to the patient’s own condition and cannot be generalized. If a patient’s liver cells are not damaged after infection with the hepatitis B virus and do not show clinical symptoms, the life expectancy of such patients will not be affected. When the hepatitis B virus causes liver cell damage, some patients can survive to a normal life expectancy if they receive timely antiviral and hepatoprotective treatment and strengthen their immune system to keep their hepatitis B condition under control and stable. If hepatitis B patients develop liver cirrhosis or liver cancer, it is difficult to cure these patients. Therefore, patients with hepatitis B should be treated as early as possible, reviewed regularly during treatment, pay more attention to rest, quit smoking and drinking, and can do proper exercise and ensure balanced nutrition.
