Garlic enteric tablets are often not used to treat urinary tract infections. Garlic enteric tablets mainly treat fungal infections, while urinary tract infections are mostly Escherichia coli infections, Klebsiella infections or Enterococcus faecalis infections, etc. Therefore, garlic enteric tablets should not be used as the drug of choice for urinary tract infections, unless the presence of fungi in the urine is confirmed. Common urinary tract infections often do not have the presence of fungi, and patients are advised to select drugs for targeted treatment based on the results of urine culture and drug sensitivity tests. In principle, fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as levofloxacin hydrochloride and ciprofloxacin, or cephalosporin antimicrobials such as cefixime capsules and cefuroxime tablets are preferred. If a fungal infection is present in the urine culture, garlic enteric tablets can be used, and other types of antifungal medications such as fluconazole injection can also be used. Patients are advised to seek medical attention early after urinary tract infections for targeted medication treatment.
