Dropsy Pill is composed of soap alum, glycyrrhiza glabra, jujube, wood sorrel, wheat, etc. It is sour and astringent in flavor, and has the effect of inducing diuresis and eliminating edema (clearing urine and eliminating water retention), removing dampness and strengthening the spleen. It is used in dropsy, which is characterized by distension of the chest and abdomen, swelling of the limbs, constipation of the bowels, and short and reddish urine (small amount of urine, dark yellow in color).
