Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive organs. It occurs mostly in middle-aged women. According to the literature, the incidence of fibroids in women over 35 years of age is about 40%. The cause of fibroids is unknown, but it is generally believed that the occurrence of fibroids is related to sex hormones. The clinical symptoms of uterine fibroids are related to the growth site of fibroids. 1.Submucosal fibroids: persistent vaginal bleeding or irregular vaginal bleeding. 2.Interstitial fibroids: prolonged menstrual period and increased menstrual flow. 3. Subplasmalemmal leiomyosarcoma: symptoms appear later, and abdominal masses are more often found or there are no clinical symptoms. Minimally invasive interventional treatment is to inject particulate material into the uterine artery to cause embolization and block the blood supply to the uterine fibroids to cause necrosis of the fibroids due to ischemia in order to achieve the treatment purpose. It is also known as uterine artery embolization. The advantages of this treatment are that it is less invasive, less painful, preserves the uterus and has no scars on the uterus, especially for those young women and women with fertility requirements.
