Precautions for the Thirteen-Valent Pneumonia Vaccine

The precautions for immunization with the 13-valent pneumonia vaccine are generally divided into precautions before and after vaccination.
1. Before vaccination
(1) Measure the baby’s temperature, if it exceeds 37.3 degrees, it is recommended to postpone vaccination. People with high fever and severe discomfort should not be vaccinated, and should be vaccinated one week after they have recovered.
(2) Empty stomach is not suitable for vaccination, it is best not to give babies vaccination when they are empty stomach, you can let babies eat and drink enough half an hour before vaccination.
2. After vaccination
(1) Do not take a bath immediately after receiving the 13-valent pneumonia vaccine because there are needle holes on the body, which may cause bacterial infections, and take a bath only after a minimum interval of more than 24 hours.
(2) There may be an increase in body temperature after vaccination. If the inoculated person’s body temperature is mildly elevated, he/she should rest appropriately, pay attention to warmth, drink plenty of water, and if necessary, apply ice packs and other physical cooling.
(3) Redness, swelling and pain at the site of vaccination, cold compresses can be used to promote local anti-inflammatory pain relief and reduce tissue congestion. If there are hard nodules, hot compresses can be used to promote blood circulation, or magnesium sulfate solution can be used to apply hot compresses.
The vaccination of thirteen-valent pneumonia vaccine should be based on the baby’s condition, and consult the doctor more before and after the vaccination to ensure the successful completion of the vaccination.
