What tests are usually required for infertile couples?

As in general cases, both partners in infertility need to go through history taking, physical examination and ancillary tests to be able to form a correct diagnosis. Without a correct diagnosis, there is no way to talk about standardized treatment! For this reason, it is necessary to determine whether the following factors are normal: First, is the sexual life of both partners normal? Second, is the male partner’s semen analysis, such as the number and activity of sperm normal? Thirdly, is the ovarian function of the female partner normal? Is there any dysfunction of the fallopian tubes to transport eggs? Is there any endometrial disease? Is there any serious cervical disease? Are there any reproductive system infections that are detrimental to pregnancy? In addition, some patients may require further ultrasound of the reproductive system, MRI of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, CT examinations, and testing of sex hormones and chromosomes.
