If a child has a fever at home at night with antipyretic medication and the body temperature is not very high, the child can be treated at home. If the body temperature is very high, greater than or equal to 39.1℃, which is high fever, and the child’s mental state is not good, accompanied by poor peripheral circulation, such as cold hands and feet, the child can be taken directly to the hospital to avoid the occurrence of febrile convulsions and seizures caused by improper treatment at home. The parents need to actively cooperate with physical cooling within an hour after applying antipyretic drugs, such as drinking more water or wiping with warm water and using antipyretic patches, in order to bring the child’s body temperature back to the ideal state.
