Will chronic pharyngitis heal on its own?

Chronic pharyngitis is often recurrent. The symptoms of chronic simple pharyngitis may be relieved on its own, but will not be cured by itself, but will recur when encountering adverse stimuli; other types of chronic pharyngitis need active treatment, including elimination of the cause of the disease, local treatment and so on. 1. Eliminate the causes of the disease: quit smoking and drinking, correct constipation and indigestion, and improve the living and working environment, such as avoiding inhalation of harmful gases. 2. Local treatment (1) Chronic simple pharyngitis: use compound borax solution to gargle to keep the oropharynx clean; or use silver nitrate solution to smear the pharynx in order to reduce the inflammation, generally do not use antibiotic treatment. (2) Chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis: lymphoid follicles in the posterior pharyngeal wall can be treated with electrocoagulation. (3) Atrophic and dry pharyngitis: Cauterization is not allowed, and a small amount of iodine can be taken internally to promote increased secretion and improve symptoms. Take vitamin A, C, E, etc. to promote mucosal growth. (4) Chronic allergic pharyngitis: avoid contact with allergens and use glucocorticoids locally or systemically. When chronic pharyngitis occurs, you should go to the regular hospital for treatment in time, and choose the appropriate treatment under the guidance of professional doctors to maximize the quality of life.
