What’s going on with the right hip and leg pain

Right hip and leg pain may be caused by lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, pyriformis syndrome or sciatica.
1. Lumbar disc herniation: When the lumbar disc herniation presses on the right nerve root, it can lead to nerve root damage, which in turn manifests the symptoms of right buttock pain, or combined with the symptoms of radiating pain in the right lower limb, and in severe cases, it may lead to the loss of muscle strength in the right lower limb, skin sensation loss, and so on.
2. Lumbar spinal stenosis: lumbar spinal stenosis can compress the nerves in the lumbar spinal canal, leading to cauda equina injury or nerve root compression syndrome, if the right side of the compression is serious, it can show the right buttock pain, right lower limb pain, right lower limb intermittent claudication or muscle weakness. Lumbar spine X-ray, CT examination can understand the degree of stenosis.
3. Piriformis syndrome: when the right piriformis muscle injury or inflammatory changes may damage and stimulate the sciatic nerve, resulting in sciatica symptoms, such as right buttock and leg pain, and the pain is more intense, and is not easy to relieve in the short term.
4. Sciatica: If the right sciatic nerve is inflamed, or the sciatic nerve is stimulated by mechanical compression and injury, it can also lead to right hip and leg pain.
People with right hip and leg pain should seek medical attention as soon as possible and receive appropriate treatment.
