Chenpi is the dried peel of tangerine and its cultivated varieties, which is better when aged for a long time, hence the name Chenpi. It is mainly produced in Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan, Hunan, Yunnan and other provinces, and is collected in autumn when the fruit is ripe, so Chen Pi is the skin of orange peel after long storage. It has the functions of regulating qi and strengthening the spleen, harmonizing the stomach and stopping vomiting, and drying dampness and resolving phlegm. It is often used for vomiting and eructation caused by stagnation of spleen and stomach qi, vomiting and diarrhea with little food; it can also be used for vomiting and eructation caused by phlegm-dampness obstruction and upward rebellion of stomach qi; it can also be used for the treatment of cough, qi rebellion and white phlegm caused by phlegm-dampness congestion.
