Deworming medication is available for all children over 2 years of age and is generally not required on a regular basis. Since intestinal parasites are less common nowadays due to better living conditions and hygiene habits, not all infants and children need regular deworming medication. However, infants and children living in rural areas with poor hygiene conditions may have parasites and may consider taking intestinal wormers, such as albendazole or mebendazole, for worming. However, before taking deworming medication, it is recommended to have a routine stool examination to find out the presence of parasites in the body before using it to avoid certain effects on the intestinal system. In addition, parents should pay attention to children’s personal hygiene, including washing hands before and after meals, correcting finger-sucking habits, avoiding scratching the anus, and putting children in full-crotch pants as early as possible, and recommending boiling and disinfecting clothes and pants.
