In daily life, one will often encounter some open injuries, which often have blood vessel rupture and blood flowing out of the body from the wound and external bleeding. If the bleeding is serious, timely hemostatic treatment is required; otherwise, the patient’s life will be in danger. For acute injuries appearing external bleeding, the first should determine the vascular situation of the injury. 1, arterial vascular bleeding: blood color is bright red, blood flow is more rapid, jet-like, generally more bleeding, the danger is large. 2, venous vascular bleeding: blood dark red, blood flow is slow, bleeding is mostly gushing out of the wound. 3, capillary hemorrhage; blood is bright red, blood generally exudes from the wound surface. For acute bleeding, the following methods are commonly used to stop bleeding. 1.Acupressure hemostasis method: applicable to arterial bleeding. Feel the superficial artery of the artery at the proximal end of the bleeding site (referring to the end near the heart), and press the blood vessel hard to the bone below with your fingers to block the blood flow and achieve the purpose of hemostasis. 2.Pressure bandage to stop bleeding: It is suitable for small venous or capillary bleeding. Cover the wound with sterile gauze (or other clean substitute items), and then use bandages to stop bleeding by applying appropriate pressure. 3.Padded flexion limb hemostasis method: applicable to arterial bleeding of limbs without fracture. Thick gauze pads are placed in the axilla, elbow fossa, groin, popliteal fossa and other joints on the flexed side, and the limb is tied and fixed in the flexed position to stop bleeding. 4, tourniquet hemostasis method: used for large arterial bleeding in the extremities. The rubber tube (band) is moderately stretched and knotted around the limb 2-3 times at the proximal end of the bleeding site in order to block the blood flow. 5.Gang band hemostasis method: when there is no rubber tubing, cloth band can be used instead. Put the cloth band around the limb for a week, take a small wooden stick and put it under the cloth band, twist it tightly until the distal arterial pulsation disappears.
