What is speech delay?

  Delayed language development is a condition in which a child’s verbal or language comprehension skills are significantly behind the normal developmental level of children of the same age for various reasons. It can affect a child’s learning and daily life.  There are many different causes of speech delay, and the common causes are that children with mental retardation have varying degrees of language development.
