Can you have a baby with a bowed uterus?

A bowed uterus, also known as a saddle-shaped uterus, allows her to give birth normally. This is due to hypoplasia of the uterine fundus caused by the incomplete meeting and fusion of the bilateral paramedian ducts. It is characterized by a saddle-shaped uterus with a slightly sunken top middle and a slightly convex wall towards the uterine cavity. Ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging and hysterosalpingography with iodine oil can help to differentiate it, as can cervical examination of the uterine cavity. Usually we do not treat saddle uterus, but if pregnancy is possible, it is important to rest and watch for contractions throughout the pregnancy. In this case, the contractions may be uncoordinated during labor and the rate of cesarean delivery is definitely higher than usual. In case of recurrent miscarriage, hysteroplasty should be performed, but the scope of the operation is much smaller and the results are much better than in bicornuate hysteroplasty.
