Is it normal to have a fever at the fracture?

Fever at the fracture site is a normal phenomenon. The first stage of fracture healing is the hematoma inflammatory mechanization phase, during which the bruises produced at the fracture site form blood clots, and the process of blood clot removal has a febrile reaction. Because the fracture site is surrounded by necrotic soft tissue and blood vessels, a large number of inflammatory cells infiltrate the necrotic site during the healing process, causing the removal of necrotic bone tissue and soft tissue, so inflammation occurs at the fracture site. One of the symptoms of inflammation is fever, and the fever site does not need special treatment if it does not show obvious redness, swelling, or itching, which is normal. In addition to this, there may be an infection at the fracture end, so it is best to rest well during treatment, not to eat cold, spicy or stimulating food, and to take anti-inflammatory drugs if necessary.
