What’s wrong with getting up too much at night at age 55

55 years old get up more at night, may be too much water before going to bed, prostate hyperplasia, urinary tract infection, bladder stones, tumors and bladder overactivity.
1. Physiological factors: if there is a habit of drinking a lot of water before going to bed, it may lead to physiological increase in nocturia and frequent urination at night.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) prostate hyperplasia: for male patients, the possibility of prostate hyperplasia is often considered, and the hyperplasia of the prostate tissue compresses the urethra, leading to the performance of frequent nocturia.
(2) Urinary tract infection: For female patients, urinary tract infection such as cystitis and urethritis is often considered, and inflammation stimulation leads to frequent nocturia.
(3) Bladder stones and tumors: the presence of bladder stones and tumors may lead to a decrease in the effective volume of the bladder, resulting in frequent nocturia.
(4) Overactive bladder: If overactive bladder syndrome, such as neurogenic bladder, is present, it may also present with the symptom of getting up more often at night.
Frequent nocturnal urination at the age of 55 may also be caused by other factors, therefore, patients are advised to go further to the regular hospital for treatment.
