Dizziness one year after cerebral infarction

If a patient with cerebral infarction still has dizziness after one year, there are two aspects to be considered: one is dizziness caused by psychosomatic factors; the other is dizziness due to insufficient blood supply to the brain, slowing down of cerebral blood flow and increasing of blood viscosity, resulting in ischemia and hypoxia of the brain. How to differentiate between these two types of dizziness is to ask about the patient’s medical history, the symptoms associated with dizziness, and the duration of dizziness, and the patient must be examined by a neurologist, and relevant laboratory tests such as blood lipids, blood viscosity, and blood pressure measurements, and intracranial vascular ultrasonography must be done to determine whether the patient is suffering from dizziness caused by a psychological cause, or a pathologic cause of dizziness.
