How long does it take to get back to normal after having a kidney puncture?

Due to the advancement of renal puncture biopsy technology, the safety is much better than before and the patient is less injured. Normally kidney puncture biopsy will return to normal 24 hours after the procedure. After renal puncture patients can be kept in prone position stretcher or flat car to send back to the ward, and then lying in bed for 24 hours, advise the patient not to force activities. Urine routine is checked three times consecutively to observe the color and changes of urine, and the patient’s blood pressure and heart rate are closely observed. Some research results show that there are still some complications occurring after 8 hours of puncture, so it is still recommended to observe for 24 hours after renal puncture biopsy, and generally it will return to normal 24 hours after renal biopsy. Patients should stay in bed after renal puncture, do not exert themselves to move around, and ask the ward doctor if they have any discomfort.
