A colposcopy takes about a few minutes

A colposcopy takes about 10 to 20 minutes to complete. Colposcopy involves optical magnification of the fully exposed vagina and cervix by a factor of 5 to 40, and direct observation of the vascular pattern and epithelial structure of these areas to detect lesions associated with cancer, and tissue biopsy of the suspicious areas to be sent for pathologic examination. The process of colposcopy is relatively simple, but acetate white test and iodine test are required. By observing the coloring depth of the local tissues, combined with the mosaic of blood vessels and the opening of the glandular ducts in the lesion area to determine the location of the abnormal image and guide the biopsy, the whole process will be completed in about 10 to 20 minutes. If abnormalities are found during colposcopy, you should consult a doctor in time for further diagnosis and standardized treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor.
