Can you have a baby if you are pregnant with syphilis?

If you are pregnant with syphilis, you can have a child. Syphilis is not an indication for abortion. It is possible to ensure the health of the fetus by doing the relevant tests and having regular treatment. Pregnant women who are found to be infected with syphilis are usually treated with standard penicillin. During the course of treatment, regular follow-up and efficacy evaluation should be carried out, and additional treatment should be given to those with recurrence or reinfection. Infected pregnant women found in early pregnancy should be given one course of treatment in early pregnancy and one course in late pregnancy, for a total of two courses; infected pregnant women found in mid- and late-pregnancy should be given two courses of treatment immediately, and between the two courses, an interval of more than four weeks is needed, and the second course should be started in late pregnancy and preferably completed one month before delivery. The fetus should be well tested at birth, and the decision whether to give prophylactic treatment or a full course of treatment should be made according to the titer of the non-syphilis spirochete antigen serology test.
