Hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein cancer, what is the cause of abdominal distension

Hepatocellular carcinoma with hilar carcinoma, abdominal distension may be caused by abnormal bile secretion, electrolyte disorder, portal hypertension and so on. 1. Abnormal bile secretion: liver is the largest digestive gland in human body, and one of the functions of liver is to produce bile, which can help digestion of fatty food. In patients with chronic liver disease, liver function is impaired, bile production and excretion is impaired, and the digestion of fatty foods is impaired, often resulting in diarrhea and abdominal distension. 2. Electrolyte disorders: patients with liver cancer have reduced diet, or take diuretics for a long time, resulting in electrolyte disorders leading to hypokalemia. Insufficient intestinal power may cause abdominal distension, which is mostly manifested as reduced defecation and weakness. 3. Portal vein hypertension: patients with liver cancer have elevated portal vein pressure, intestinal stagnation, swelling and abnormal secretion of digestive juice, poor digestion and absorption of food, fermentation, corruption and gas production in the intestines, which make liver cancer patients more prone to abdominal distension. At the same time, portal hypertension leads to a large amount of ascites, which increases the pressure in the abdominal cavity and also causes obvious abdominal distension. Patients are recommended to go to regular hospitals for consultation and systematic treatment as prescribed by doctors.
