How to tell if you’re pregnant while breastfeeding

Clinical symptoms and relevant examinations can be used to determine whether a woman is pregnant during breastfeeding.
1. Clinical symptoms: If a breastfeeding woman does not use effective contraception, there is a chance of pregnancy. Early pregnancy symptoms such as breast tenderness, fatigue, vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, mild abdominal distension and increased vaginal discharge may occur. However, due to the different situations of individuals, it is not possible to diagnose pregnancy based on clinical symptoms. If such situations occur, it can be initially judged as pregnancy.
2. Relevant tests: If a breastfeeding woman suspects that she is pregnant, she can check the value of human chorionic gonadotropin in her blood or urine to determine whether she is pregnant or not. Ultrasound can also be performed to detect whether the pregnancy is intrauterine.
For women who do not need to have children, effective contraception should be used during breastfeeding to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
