Huanglian Shangqing Tablets is composed of seventeen Chinese herbs including Huanglian, Forsythia, Gardenia, Fried Bramble Seed, Thornybush, Fenghuang, Angelica dahurica, Chrysanthemum, Rhubarb, Scutellaria baicalensis, Mentha piperita, Cypress, Platycodonopsis, Rhizoma Ligusticum Chuanxiong, Gypsum, Glycyrrhiza as well as Fructus Eucommiae.
Huanglian Shangqing Tablet is effective in relieving pain and fire, clearing heat and dispersing wind. It is mainly used to relieve pain and swelling of teeth, mouth and tongue sores, dizziness, sore throat, tinnitus, earache, constipation, urination and other discomforts caused by heat in the lungs and stomach, or wind-fire attack.
Huanglian Shangqing Tablet is contraindicated for pregnant women, cold spleen and stomach, avoid taking spicy and stimulating food, should not take nourishing proprietary Chinese medicines at the same time during the drug. The adverse effects of the drug are not clear.
