Hyperuricemia is a group of disorders of purine metabolism, characterized by increased serum uric acid concentration, some patients have no clinical symptoms, but some patients can cause gouty acute arthritis, gout stone deposition, gouty chronic arthritis and joint deformity, often involving the kidneys to cause chronic interstitial nephritis and uric acid kidney stone formation. The cause of primary hyperuricemia is not elucidated except for a few due to enzyme defects, and is often associated with hyperlipidemia, obesity, diabetes mellitus and hypertension, called metabolic syndrome. Secondary cases can be caused by kidney disease, blood disease and drugs, etc. About 15% of gout patients will die of renal failure. The kidney damage of hyperuricemia cannot be ignored!
